About ECHO
ECHO is a non-profit organization, focused on Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) in (higher) education and the labor market. We have a specific focus on cultural diversity, emphasizing strength instead of deficiency and facilitating the process of “getting comfortable with the uncomfortable.”
Originally founded by the Ministry of Education, Culture & Science in 1994, ECHO now acts as an independent “not for profit” social enterprise with over 25 years of experience and (inter)national networks in the field of diversity and inclusion.
What ECHO does
ECHO advises higher education institutions, organizations and companies on their diversity policy. ECHO offers tailor-made advisory programs in the field of vision development, policy development or implementation. Echo sees ‘The pedagogy of excellence’ as a starting point for change in advisory programs. The Pedagogy of Excellence is a philosophy in which the strength of the individual is assumed and the goal is to excel instead of adapt. Everyone has the opportunity to excel provided that the right guidance and support is offered. In addition, the experience and background of people are taken into account as much as possible. This successful concept was developed and implemented at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
