Do you need a sparring partner from the corporate world who can help you navigate the labor market and provide you with feedback? Are you looking for a mentor who takes your cultural identity and experience into account? Then sign up now for the 2017-2018 Mentoring Program!

Young Professionals are eager to share their network and experience to coach you in your quest for a first job.
During the Mentoring Program you will be paired with a mentor, a(n) (international) Professional from one of the participating companies. With your mentor you’ll discuss subjects that are relevant to you, for example, your ambitions and doubts about the transition to working life. It’s your learning experience, so you decide on the topics. It does take some preparation on your part, because we expect you to maximize your learning experience. The mentors themselves have graduated not too long ago. They are all motivated and eager to assist and support you.
The goal of this Mentoring Program is twofold: Mentors hope to help you focus with your orientation on the labor market in an informal way. On the other hand, they also feel they are able learn from you. The companies involved believe that diverse teams are more innovative and therefore it is important that professionals continue to evolve in the field of management of diversity. With this initiative we hope to achieve mutual knowledge and inspiration and to support you, if desired, in your search for your first job in the industry.
The Mentoring program is carried out on an annual basis. It starts in November 2017 and ends in June 2018. During the mentoring program, three plenary sessions take place.
Kickoff Session: 29 November 2017, 15.00-1700 at New Babylon Meeting Center, The Hague
During the kickoff session we discuss the “rules of the game” during the mentoring program. Mentors and mentees will meet each other for the first time and you will set up the first meetings.
Reflection session mentees: 6 February 2018, 15.00-17.00 at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, The Hague
During the reflection session mentees will get a workshop that is focused on the questions they have posed during the program, such as networking skills, or advice on job application procedures.
Reflection sessions mentors: 14 February 2018, 15.00-17.00 at the municipality of Amsterdam, Amsterdam
The mentors also get together for a reflection session. This session is focused on their mentoring skills.
Close out session: 20 June 2018, 15.00-17.00 at KPMG, Amstelveen
The mentoring program will end with a close out session and certificate ceremony.
Individual meetings mentor/mentee
Between the plenary sessions, mentees are required to schedule at least 1 individual appointment per month with their mentor. During these meetings, topics may discussed by the mentee that address their needs and challenges, for example ambitions and doubts about the transition to working life. The responsibility lies mainly with the mentee to determine the agenda, with the mentor offering tailor-made support and guidance.
